Hi everyone,
I recently got an invitation under the OINP In-Demand Skills stream and I’m preparing my application. I have a few doubts and would really appreciate your advice.
I have been employed with my current employer for over 3 years. However, in 2024 I had a temporary layoff for about 1.5 months. My employer has already submitted their documents from their side. I am not sure whether they have mentioned about this or not. Do I need to disclose this from my side when filling out my application? At that time, I was eligible for EI but didn’t claim it. However, an ROE was issued to Service Canada by the employer.
I also took a leave of absence for about 1.5 months in February 2026 and returned to work on April 13, 2026.
My employer has issued an ROE (likely code D) to Service Canada. Should I declare this under “other activities” or somewhere else?
- I completed a PSW course (6 months) from October 7, 2025 to April 5, 2026. I know I need to disclose this, but should it go under “education” or “other activities”? Will this create any issues for my application?
Just want to make sure I’m being fully transparent and not missing anything. I am really sorry for this long message. But I am a bit stressed with this. Thanks so much.
