I saw some posts from a few years ago indicating that Venmo had a technical issue so you couldn't send crypto, but they were working on it. I assumed it was resolved by now, bought BTC with cash I had in my Venmo account and have not been able to do anything with it for over a week.
I cannot send it to an external wallet.
I cannot send it to another Venmo user.
My identity is verified in Venmo.
Customer service says engineering is aware and working on a fix and stated I may have to convert it back to cash to use it. This matches the response in posts I saw several years ago.
I requested a refund of the fees I paid, and will pay for the conversions and was denied repeatedly.
So, is this something where Venmo is knowingly collecting fees for something that doesn't work? Please tell me if this problem is unique to me... otherwise this feels a lot like fraud.
