I've had privilege to attempt entrepreneurship 3 times
- Attempt 1: Right out of college, a naive product-market fit failure (died at launch).
- Attempt 2: Right after first failure, a B2C product with total 10k users, ~250 monthly orders, partnership with 2nd largest vendor in country , but couldn’t get funded due to small ticket sizes.
- Attempt 3: Micro-SaaS that plateaued at $100 MRR. This one I attemted while working 9-5
I come from a family of government employees, so I’ve had to learn the "business" side through trial by fire. Right now, I’m in a great spot, dream job, good pay, living in my target country. Life is chill, but I can’t shake the itch to build one more time.
I want to move away from "small" ideas and tackle a serious domain, example: Medicine/Healthcare. I have zero background and zero network in the any such field. For those of you who broke into a complex industry without prior experience:
- How did you identify the "real" problems worth solving?
- How did you build a network of subject matter experts (SMEs) from scratch?
- What are the first steps to learning a regulated domain while working a 9-5?
I have been struggling since past 6 months to the point I am getting depressed out of boredom. I dont want to start blindly this time, getting hyped by these people posting numbers online, thinking I could also do it without core problem figured out.
Any suggestion or help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!!
