for context, i have a 55 gallon tank with:
2 fantails both ~5 inches
1 fantail ~2 inches
1 black moor ~3 inches
1 black moor ~1 inch
1 oranda ~2 inches
2 shubunkins both ~4 inches
1 albino shubunkin ~4 inches
5 gold dojo loaches all ~4 inches
3 rabbit snails all ~1 1/2 inches
and about 10 gold cloud minnows ~1 inch each

my water parameters are always stable, temp stays around 71-73° ph stays around a 7.4, ammonia always at 0 ppm, nitrites 0 ppm, nitrates usually at 40 ish ppm. fish never fight, no aggression, nitrites sometimes spike to 0.25 ppm, but a water change follows. i test the water once a week using api freshwater master test kit.

i feed the minnows hikari micro pellets, all goldfish bug bites goldfish pellets and loaches get hikari sinking wafers. zucchini once a week for loaches and snails, goldfish get deshelled peas once a week, add garlic every other week, and frozen food like bloodworms or brine shrimp once a week.

i’m aware these fish will grow, i plan to upgrade or create a well shaded outdoor pond in my backyard (i live in the south).

anyways, just wanting to hear any thoughts, comments or suggestions for my tank. i love these little guys, and want what’s best for them. thanks!

edit: i use fluval aquaclear 70 along with a sponge filter made for a 40 gallon (i believe) and aqueon pro 150 heater.
