I’ve wanted to move to New York for the diversity and a no one gives a fuck abt you unless you genuinely dying-attitude since I was 5. I was hoping you guys might have some tips for me.
Background:
I’ve done some research but every YouTube video says the same things and I don’t trust the influencers if I’m being honest. I’ve looked into manhattan of course, but my goal is to be around some diversity and I don’t think I’ll find that in manhattan. Also it’s mostly out of my price range. I’ve also looked into Brooklyn but it sounds like Brooklyn is also becoming expensive and the character is being taken out of it. Mind you I am an outsider who knows nothing. I also looked into Long Island but I don’t want to be away from the chaos. Do you guys have any suggestions on where I should look? I need somewhere safe enough too. I’m a white female (if that matters) around 21 years old.
Also how would I find a job to support this? I don’t need much in life just enough to keep myself afloat. Currently I make about 40,000 a year. Is that enough to sustain myself in New York?
And last, how do I make friends there?
