Hi! My partner and I are looking to leave Cedar Rapids and rent in Iowa City for the next 2 years (Starting Fall of 20206) while my finish my professional doctorate degree. I am familiar with Iowa City, but am having a hard time finding what we want. If anyone knows of anything that meets most or all of these desires, let me know!
(Before you comment that this isn't possible in Iowa City, we are totally willing to let some of these go but I wrote down everything in hopes of finding a place that would meet as many of these desires as possible)
Below is what we are looking for:
Open to houses and apartments/condos! Our main hope is just to be in an area that is quieter with respectful neighbors. I am in my late 20s and my partner is in his 30s and neither of us are into the party scene and would prefer to live away from areas where there would be a lot of house parties.
Bedroom wants:
- 2 bedrooms minimum
- one room big enough to fit a king bed.
Bathroom wants:
- Any number of bathrooms
- Bathtub
Other:
- On-site washer and dryer
- Fenced yard, or very close to a dog park/sniff spot
- Close to a bus stop or walking/biking distance to the medical campus
- decent landlords who quickly respond to anything that needs fixed
- snow removal/lawn care if a house - we would also be willing to pay extra for this, but would prefer that the landlord manages it.
- covered parking for at least one car (2 would be great!) (We are willing to pay extra for this)
