The only job I've been able to get other than CNA work where I live is fast food. The fast food places pay more than the CNA jobs where I live, so that's pretty much my only option. I have years of experience being a cashier, but my first day they threw me right on the drive thru register without any basic training. They had me skip the e-learning that we're supposed to do before we start. Every time I have to modify someone's order, I have to get a manager who huffs and puffs like I've been working there for years and should know everything already. Is it that hard to schedule an extra worker or something to show new employees where every button is on the register and what you need to know to modify orders, delete something, add substitutes etc? I don't get it and it's like this at every food place I've worked.

They seem to put so much effort into these e-learning courses for lazy training & half the time when you try doing things the way the courses teach you, the managers tell you to ignore it and do it their way. What's the point? All I need is 20 minutes for someone to show me where every button is and tell me what the meals actually come with. I guess I'm supposed to study the menu and learn everything off the clock, but you can't even do that with the registers if you wanted to.

Sorry, I needed somewhere to vent on my break. The managers treating me like I'm a bother has me wanting to cry in my car right now lmao and I can't afford to rage quit. They talk about how new people quit after just a couple weeks and I see why now. It's my second day and I already feel so defeated just from trying to learn basic shit.
