Hey guys! I’m currently in year 11 about to do my GCSEs (terrifying) and have already got into the sixth form near me taking classical civ, a form of history and PRE. I’m looking to get into as good as a university as possible (the dream is Oxbridge) taking an undergraduate in theology and philosophy. I’ve seen very mixed opinions online about different A-level choices specifically film, some say it’s good as it shows analytical skills from different sorts of media whereas others say that it seen as a ‘weaker A-level’. Film is my passion and I very much enjoy it although I’m aware it’s very unlikely to achieve big in that field and it’s not my aim tbh. Anyways, getting to the point, would taking film harm the chances of me getting into a good uni or would it not affect the chances (assuming I got the grades necessary in it)?
