My partner and I are planning an 8-day Mongolia adventure (Aug 16–23) and will start looking for a driver/guide/company to take us through the Gobi Desert and Central Mongolia.
Our planned itinerary is:
• Aug 16-17: Dalanzadgad (start) → Yolyn Am → Khongoryn Els (full day) (2 nights)
• Aug 18: Bayanzag/Flaming Cliffs (1 night)
• Aug 19: Ongi Monastery (1 night)
• Aug 20: Karakorum & Erdene Zuu Monastery (1 night)
• Aug 21–22: Tövkhön/Orkhon Valley (2 nights, optional horseback ride to Ulaan Tsutgalan)
• Aug 23: Drive to Ulaanbaatar (end)
We’d love to know:
- Is this itinerary realistic and do you have any recommendations for adjustments?
- What would be roughly the costs for 2 people?
