We came to King's Island today, Saturday 5/2, so that my sister could experience the park for the first time. Overall, it had been a great day and we had went to the Beast and got on at about 7:20pm. My sister really enjoyed it so we wanted to try to do it again. To our utter terror we see a person two rows ahead of us pull out her cell phone as we dropped over the first lift hill. My sister alerted me and I tried to alert our parents in the row behind us. I was barely audible since it was later in the day and we were towards the back so the ride was shaking violently. When my parents realized what was happening they braced their faces and my mom was very panicked.
We all tried to scream and beg for her to put her phone away, watching is shake viciously in her hand as we flew down the track. All the while my mom starts having a panic attack while the rest of us are bracing our faces for if she drops her phone and it flies back and hits someone. As soon as we got back to the station we informed a worker of what happened and pointed her out directly. They stopped her, and we left to try and calm down my mom.
To the lady who thought it would be awesome to pull out her phone on Beast to record, screw you, seriously. These types of incidents have led to serious injuries. If you wanna record so badly on a ride, just get glasses that can record so that you don't horribly hurt someone. It's selfish and reckless to be doing things like that on a ride like Beast that can shake so aggressively. We did see the culprit leaving the area after the staff held her back for a bit, so I am assuming she got a warning. All I can do is hope she doesn't do it again.
