Just sharing in case anyone else has experienced something similar.

I work in tech. Before my current role, I was in a very stable position at a big corporate. The pay was great and everything was fine on paper, but I barely had any work to do. I could start at 12 and no one would care. Looking back, that was probably the main issue.

My mind is naturally very active, and since I wasn’t challenged during the day, it would go into overdrive at night. I’d end up doom-scrolling or overthinking life until 3am. My sleep schedule was completely messed up and stuck in a vicious cycle.

I later received an offer for a much more demanding role with longer hours. The pay increase was great, but I was hesitant because of my already bad sleep habits. In the end, I took it for the money.

Surprisingly, my sleep improved a lot. Since my mind is actually engaged during the day, I feel mentally tired by night and can fall asleep more easily. I wake up feeling more refreshed than I have in years.
