Hi all, I am a current Civil engineering student here in Australia and I am looking to do a masters in France. I am also looking at staying in France after graduating and working there. I speak english natively and speak Spanish at a B2+ level, and am currently learning French, of which I am about A2, but I want to achieve a C1 level. I am also not an EU/EFTA citizen.
I have some questions:
how is the civil engineering job market in France? Especially for someone who by the time they're doing a masters there should speak C1 French and have at least 3 years of work experience. I am also specialising in structural and construction engineering as well as Hydrological engineering.
How much does university prestige matter?
Civil engineering is traditionally not a very prestige oriented field and all that matters is that your degree is accredited. Would employers care if I went to a lesser known university vs a top Grande École? If anyone could confirm if this is the case in France that would be great.
I'd appreciate any information.
