Which board did you choose?

Which board did you choose?

I thought of going abroad as a backup option if jee doesn’t work out.

I’m in green shirt coaching and they have integrated state board and its curriculum for us through a random college. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think foreign universities do not accept state board students.

Do I enrol into CBSE for this particular reason or considering the cbse difficulty, it will be unnecessary pressure? Or do I not even need CBSE / any other board for going abroad?

2026tards, what’d you do to old books?

I have some relatively well maintained textbooks and some fresh notebooks.

I am now preparing for competitive exams so I do not want to use non-binder books as they’re tough to maintain.

What did y’all do with your old books? If sold, where?

So let me tell you a little about myself, this will 100% be relatable to some of you so hang in there.

I am currently a 16 yo girl. For most of my life I’ve been pretty ambitious but also very lazy. I’ve always wanted to become crazy rich. I never wanted to be just [insert name famous/rich GUY]’s wife/girlfriend/sister. I’ve always wanted something which is MY identity.

Rewind a few years from now, I thought volleyball was my passion, I was okish at it but then I eventually realised that I am in India❤️‍🩹
Next I thought I’d try for the Air Force, but no offence, I don’t have utni zyada deshbhakti to serve a corrupt no-future (argue with me all you want but at the end of the day, truth is truth) nation.

But, since our Indian parents have already laid out a “perfect”, more like perfectly outdated plan for us kids, I am now enrolled into full time Hari
T-shirt coaching.

Look, I wouldn’t say it was 100% their fault, my sister has done psychology and they let her choose BUT and most of it was my decision. The thing is, I never really got to explore or learn what money and money making actually is.

Call me delusional but I am capable of earning that 1cr package if I put my mind to it but I simply DO NOT WANT TO. I don’t want to live a mediocre boring life. I have been put into this world for some purpose and I believe that I am capable of not getting lost in the crowd. I definitely do not want to spend my youth in a 9-5

Recently heard the story about IITM graduate Vineeta singh ji and her entrepreneurship story. Pretty thought provoking and inspiring but then again this whole IIT process was relevant during her time.

I feel I am lost in the rat race again, I want to actually be happy or you could say ‘driven’ by my purpose when I’m in my 20s - 30s and not just some deadbeat slave to some company. I want to get into entrepreneurship and mujhe bas uska upar upar se idea hai.

So, my question to those of you who are similar to me or have had similar thoughts/friends is that:

- What drives you to be an IITian?
- what is the true VALUE of IIT when I don’t want to have a good job package?
- have I made a wrong decision by going down the PCM—> IIT —> IIM line?

Thank you so much for reading 🙏
