Does anyone have any rule ideas or changes?

Very curious about rule changes for 2027. I personally am thinking about if you would want to change the No Punts after Midfield rule and if you’d want to bring back the 1-point conversion. New rules however is not my strong suit. So I‘m curious about your ideas.

The Orlando Storm are 4-2 and have defeated the following teams:

Birmingham, Columbus, Louisville 2x

Each of those teams only have 2 wins and are not in the top 4. Orlando also lost to 2-win Birmingham last week.

Schedule Ahead:

Orlando will play Houston in Week 7, Dallas in Week 8, and DC in Weeks 9 & 10. I see them finishing 6-4 but I don’t see them making the United Bowl this year. If they can clean up mistakes like fumbling the snap and play calling then they are contenders.

What do you think?

  1. Week 3 Battlehawks over Stallions 34-30

Reason: This game had a little bit of everything. The first 3 quarters it was bad offense and the the 4th quarter it was Touchdowns everywhere. Great game!

  1. Week 3 Storm over Kings 29-27/OT

Reason: Both teams played very well all 4 quarters + Overtime in this game and it had a very controversial ending.

  1. Week 6 Stallions over Storm 20-17

Reason: This game had touchdowns to controversial decisions. It was also just a fun game to watch.

  1. Week 4 Kings over Gamblers 24-22/OT

Reason: A comeback fell short in Houston! Houston was down 16-6 at halftime but can back to tie it to force OT only for it to fall short. Very good game.

  1. Week 3 Renegades over Aviators 28-23

Reason: This was a good game. The Aviators did score a touchdown in garbage time but for the most part a close game. This was also when Columbus OC Todd Haley filled in as HC for HC Ted Ginn Jr. because of his DUI arrest. Very cool game.

Dallas just lost 24-6 against the Defenders and are now 3-3. Three weeks ago they were 3-0 looking like the team to beat. Now I’m able to look back and see they were frauds from the start.

Let’s start in Week 1 when they beat Houston and QB Austin Reed had an incredible 376 yard performance against them. Then they played against St. Louis in Week 2 and won 31-15. Anyone who had doubts (including me) thought “Oh, they are contenders.” Then in Week 3 they play a close game against 0-2 Columbus. That’s fine, the Columbus Head Coach was Todd Haley filling in for Ted Ginn Jr. who was arrested for DUI earlier that week. They played Columbus again in Week 4 on the road and lost. It wasn’t that big of a deal at the time since they played three games in 11 days. Then came Louisville, Austin Reed threw 4 interceptions and lost 47-25. They were 3-2 and I’m sure some were questioning them. Of course Today they lost 24-6 against DC and Dallas is now 3-3.

You might be wondering why I’m doubting them after beating a now 4-2 St. Louis team. It’s because St. Louis isn‘t the same team they were in week 2 as they are now. St. Louis scored 16 points in week 1 against DC and 15 points against Dallas. Against Orlando they scored 25.

They have Birmingham next week then Louisville and St. Louis to close out the season. They need to win at least 2 of those games to have a chance at the postseason. It’s crazy to think that a team, 3-0, looks unbeatable and then falls to 3-3 with the season on the line.

Here’s the Aviators remaining schedule:

  • Week 7 – May 8, 8 p.m.: at St. Louis Battlehawks
  • Week 8 – May 17, 1 p.m.: at Birmingham Stallions
  • Week 9 – May 23, 3 p.m.: Birmingham Stallions
  • Week 10 – May 31, 6 p.m.: Louisville Kings

Gamblers Remaining Schedule:

  • Week 7 - May 10, 5 p.m.: Orlando Storm
  • Week 8 - May 16, 2 p.m.: at St. Louis Battlehawks
  • Week 9 - May 23, 3 p.m.: St. Louis Battlehawks
  • Week 10 - May 30, 2 p.m. at Birmingham Stallions

As you can see the next three games for the Gamblers are against the Storm (4-1) and the Battlehawks (4-2, they play them twice). They end against the Stallions (1-4). This is a much harder schedule than the Aviators who, yes have the Battlehawks next week but then close out against the Stallions and the Kings (2-4). The Aviators winning tonight was the best case scenario for the league because they can make the playoffs at 5-5 without needing to beat the Battlehawks. Even if the Gamblers won tonight they would need to beat the Storm OR the Battlehawks to get to 5-5 and I don’t see that happening with how they closed out tonight’s game and their injuries at QB

Congrats on the win Aviators!✈️
