BSc Electromechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering and Automation at Universite des Mascareignes.
Hi everyone, I’ve recently applied for two programs at the Université des Mascareignes (UdM):
BSc (Hons) Electromechanical Engineering Technology 2. BSc (Hons) Electrical and Automation Engineering
I’m really looking forward to starting, but I have a few questions for current students or alumni to help me prepare:
Batch & Offers: I’m currently waiting for the offer letter. How long does it usually take from the application date to get the official email? Also, how many students do they normally take in per intake for these engineering courses?
The Lecturers: What’s the teaching style like? Are they approachable and good at explaining concepts, or is it more of a "self-study" vibe?
u/E System & Exams: I’ve heard people mention u/E regarding exams and grading, could someone explain what that actually is? How hard is it to not just pass, but get high marks (16+/20)?
Progression: What are the specific rules to move to the next semester or year? If you fail a module, how does the "rattrapage" (resit) work?
Coping with French: I come from an English-medium background. For those who were in the same boat, any tips on handling the technical French education?
Resources: If anyone is currently in Year 1 or 2, would you be willing to share some sample lecture notes or past papers? I really want to get an idea of the syllabus and see the level of the exams.
Looking for any tips on how to succeed at UDM.
Thanks in advance for the help!
