WHAT IS THIS EXPLOSION CHAIN COMBO!??

So I've seen this combo several times from different players, and I've never been able to figure out what it is or how to do it.
He does it a few times in this video, the first time it appears to proc off a Turning Slash that does chain of fire explosions that knocks the enemy high up into the air. It's not caused by any imbued gears like Volcanic Eruption or Flames of Judgement, this is something else entirely different.
The second time it happens is right after a forward charge, the explosion chain happens right at the end of the charge. I've also seen other people do it while using completely different weapons than 1h/shield, like 2h longsword, so I don't think it's weapon dependent.
Any theories or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
