Hi there, so as the title says I have my eye on a snake after loosing my dog unexpectedly at just three years old a couple of weeks ago. I’ve had all types of animals growing up even a beardie almost a decade plus ago now. Ive always wanted to get back to keeping reptiles but never did. Through grief I feel like now is a good a time as any. So I’ve picked a desert king snake. I’ve got enclosure and lighting ideas after researching for some time. However, substrate my brain is cluttered with options and I’m not sure what the best would be for him. I’m thinking Reptisoil but I’m not sure if I should add something to it for it to be the best for him. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I try to give this guy the best life possible!
