If I remember correctly the place where I found it also had a lot of other river tumbled rocks lining the bottom. A small piece Scratched brass and what I assume is stainless steel no problem, when I scratched a shot glass, the glass scratched but the small piece also crumbled. I checked with a bit of vinegar on a piece I pulled off with my hand it doesn't bubble in vinegar. I tried to show one end of the rock where it looks like there are bigger crystals that are more translucent.
