Hello all, I am a mobile mechanic. Business started about 1 year ago but only started trying to scale around 4 months ago after I left my previous job due to college. I am 18, so I can reinvest most of my profits. I don't need to worry about bills, only gas and business insurance.
I am insured, have my LLC, and am experienced in this field. The customers that I do get choose me over and over again, and I have a good relationship with them. I need to work on asking for feedback via google reviews, but that's easy. Good grammar, good communication, I retain most of the customers that call me.
I charge $100/hr, which is lower than shops in my area but still brings in a fuckton of money for me due to almost zero overhead. The work side of the business is not an issue at all. I almost always beat book times, I respond to customers quickly, I keep their cars and driveways clean. I have all the day-to-day tools and kits I need, and buy specialty tools as they are needed.
Currently working on 1-3 cars a day, usually about $200-$300 per day. I want to be drowning in work. There are always people that will need their car fixed, so the work is not scarce. I need to show my business to the world, but it is difficult with no brick-and-mortar location. I have my info on the side of my car but that only draws so much attention. I don't know how to gain exposure and I need help. I am working on a design for an A-frame sign to put out when I am working. I have a website and a Google profile. I have Facebook and Instagram, which I post to regularly.
If anyone has experience in this field, I would love any advice you can throw my way. If anyone has ideas, I've got nothing but time. Thank you kind wise people.
