Accidentally swiped on a pinned $500 promo during a Whatnot live — what can I do?

I’m looking for advice or to see if anyone has dealt with something similar.

I accidentally purchased a $500 promo/gift card during a Whatnot live from CoolKicks while walking my dog. The promo was pinned on the screen, and while I had my phone in my hand, I accidentally swiped on it. I did not intentionally confirm or mean to purchase it.

I immediately commented in the live that it was an accident and asked the seller to cancel it. The seller even acknowledged it in the moment, stopped announcing me as the buyer, and moved on to someone else in the stream — which made me think it would be canceled.

Later, I realized the order was still active. I reached out to both the seller and Whatnot support right away. The seller has been unresponsive/refusing to cancel, and Whatnot keeps saying cancellations are up to the seller per their policy.

The issue is that I’m not actually receiving a product or service here — it was essentially a mistaken promo purchase for $500, which I absolutely cannot afford. I’ve explained that this was accidental and tried to resolve it immediately, but I feel stuck.

Has anyone experienced something like this before? Were you able to get help through Whatnot, your bank/credit card company, or another route? Any advice on how to escalate this or handle it would really help.
