Was driving the c4 (1993 LT1) around yesterday, drove about 30 minutes, parked for about 30, then started her back up, and began driving again. Made it maybe 5 minutes down the road, and all of a sudden, service engine soon light came on aswell as the ASR. Engine sputtered and shut off. And could not start back up. Cranks like crazy, but won’t start. Also smells heavily of gas if cranking for awhile but it’s not leaking gas anywhere that I can see
Tried again this morning and still no starting. Pulled the codes and I’ve got
DTC 16 – Distributor Ignition System (Low Resolution Pulse)
DTC 42 – Ignition Control (IC) Circuit (Shorted or Grounded Circuit)
Leaning towards optispark. Anyone else have any info or suggestions?
