Hey r/ProgressionFantasy!

We’ve all read stories where the MC is either a complete murderhobo who kills everyone or a total doormat who forgives every villain. I wanted to write a protagonist who treats justice like a surgeon: fiercely protective of the innocent but absolutely clinical when cutting out the rot.

My debut serial, Chronicles of the Savior: Ghost of Vengeance, has just launched! Volume 1 is fully completed and uploading daily.

The Pitch:

Galan Andre Von Athalon is a retired Roman God-Emperor attempting to cope with the death of his first wife by taking a "tourist sabbatical" in an industrialized-mythology version of Edo-period Japan. His goal is to investigate a string of gruesome "Vengeful Spirit" murders. But when you are an 80-year-old deity who built an empire, it's hard to stay a tourist for long.

Progression Elements: While Galan himself is an NG+ powerhouse, the progression in this story focuses heavily on faction building and apprentice growth.

Apprentice Progression: You will watch characters like Gaius (an abused bastard son of the noble) and Lucilla (who lost her father in a werewolf lair raid) grow from traumatized servants into hardened individuals that accept the sacrifices that need to be done to keep the world safe.

Kingdom/Societal Building: Instead of punching the ghost, he is learning new ways of governance from his allies in Japan while also teaching them how real leadership is done in his blood-soaked utopia.

Why you might like it:

High-Fidelity Worldbuilding: The magic system relies on biological and physical realism. (Think forensic autopsies using earth magic and healing magic that turns recently dead tissue into rotting flesh in an instant).

Seinen Tone: It balances wholesome, found-family slice of life with visceral, tactical combat and psychological horror.

Smart Antagonists: The ghosts are complex, terrifying amalgamations born from systemic injustice. They are a force that requires someone like Galan to solve, both due to others' incompetence and bureaucratic red tape.

If you like the kingdom-building and deep lore of The Wandering Inn mixed with the cynical humor and overpowered competence of The Perfect Run, I’d love for you to check it out!
