My Biggest Complaint about Dragon Quest I & II HD Remakes...

Getting the keys...

Now, I really love how they connect III and II through the original game, that was a nice little addition and really helps to create cohesion between all three titles. That said...

The grind to get the keys is far too drawn out and gating the ability to get them behind completing certain events has put a damper on my enjoyment of the two titles themselves. I've actually stalled some on playing DQ II because of the frustration I feel from not being able to get those keys. It just feels arbitrary and unnecessary, like it's just a way to create a sense of making the game feel longer or a larger sense of accomplishment. All it's done for me is create a stumbling block, not everything needed to be different or more elaborate to still be a great game.

Obviously this is my opinion and I am not saying they are bad games because of it. I just needed to vent my frustration about it and see if anyone else felt the same. Thank you for coming to my brief rant!
