My child was diagnosed a few months ago with autism and I got her enrolled in ABA therapy. TBH I don’t know what’s typical and what’s not since this is all so new to me.

She’s been going in clinic to this ABA facility. I was told she would be with the same RBT she had a few days ago today. Well when I go to drop my daughter off I was told she would be with the bcba for part of the day then she will be with another person who is not an RBT she’s the receptionist / intake coordinator for the remainder of the day.

I had a knot in my stomach driving home bc of that. Not to mention I never saw a parent pick up or drop off the entire month she was there. If felt weird. As soon as I got home i turned around and picked her right back up.

Is this allowed and is this normal? I thought she would be with an RBT? I felt like there was a lot of inconsistencies there so I pulled her out. I just don’t feel this facility is a good fit. I’ll be told she will have an RBT that will continuously work with her & then I never see them again.

Not going to lie I sorta feel like an a hole for picking her up like that but this is my child and I haven’t been feeling great about this place. I worry she is the only kid back there sometimes 😭
