Hi everyone,
I'm a former Fulbrighter who studied at Teachers College, Columbia University. My major was International and Comparative Education, and I have 5 years of teaching experience with the Cambridge International Curriculum, specializing in IGCSE and AS&A level. It's been a year since I returned to my home country, and I'm currently debating if there's any chance for me to work back in NYC since I was already on a J-1 visa. I worked with charter and public schools, interning at extracurricular program organizations while I was studying, and I would really like to take a chance to work at a school where I would feel valued (currently teaching back in my home country as well, but STEM teachers are more funded or preferred compared to Humanities or Social science subjects). I saw a couple of posts mentioning that I would need a third party to sponsor the visa. Any insights on where to start or advice is welcome.
