Hi everyone,
I’m currently in Canada on a work permit, and one of the conditions says:
“Unless authorized, prohibited from attending any educational institution or taking any academic, professional or vocational training course.”
I’m interested in a CCA (Continuing Care Assistant) program in Nova Scotia, and the course duration is less than 6 months.
From what I understand, some short courses (under 6 months) don’t always require a study permit, but I’m confused because of the restriction on my work permit.
My questions are:
- Has anyone taken a short course (under 6 months) with this kind of restriction?
- Does the “less than 6 months” rule still apply if my work permit clearly says no study?
- Do I still need to change my permit or get authorization first?
- What are the risks if someone enrolls anyway?
I really don’t want to mess up my future PR, so any advice or real experiences would help a lot.
Thanks!
