Hey Charlotte! Reddit came through HUGE for our Uwharrie cleanup project, so I figured I’d ask again ❤️
We’re hosting Appalachian Trail Magic over Memorial Day Weekend near Grayson Highlands/The Scales campground for thru hikers walking hundreds (sometimes thousands) of miles along the Appalachian Trail.
We’ll be hauling in food, drinks, fresh fruit, coffee, hot meals, and supplies for hikers passing through. Fresh food becomes a BIG deal out there.
We could really use:
• volunteers
• coolers with ice
• folding tables
• camp cooking setups
• food/drink donations
• canopies
• anyone connected to outdoor or snack brands
A heads up: this is VERY primitive camping. The last few miles in are rough and volunteers need to bring their own camp gear and come prepared to camp comfortably outdoors. Think rugged campout, not glamping 😅
Go on YouTube and watch the videos of the road. It’s recommended to air down your tires.
Even if you can only come for a day or all weekend it helps. And if you can’t make it but still want to contribute toward groceries/supplies, I can send the donation info privately.
Reddit seriously helped make the Uwharrie cleanup happen, so I’m hoping we can rally together again for something really special for hikers 🥾
