Completion of the Subreddit Overhaul!
Hello there!
As you may have already noticed, the Subreddit has undergone some changes in the last few days, in order to make it more user-friendly, broadly appealing and higher quality.
I'm proud to announce that most of these changes have now been completed. Here's a quick summary of all the changes I and the other moderators have made:
- Rearrangement and overhaul of the server rules to be more easily readable and understandable.
- Introduction of a partial ban on the usage of AI. (There may be exceptions for some limited usage)
- Semi-Liberalization of our rules on shitposts: We now allow Satirical Posts, if they are high effort and thoughtful.
- We now explicitly allow and encourage the use of base-maps, such as BAM or Satellite Maps for your Projects.
- Introduction of four new post flairs: (Ethnic, Linguistic and Religious Maps, Historic Maps, Satirical Maps, Redrawn Borders)
In addition to these changes, we have also updated the look and feel of the Community by changing the Logo, Banner and Color Scheme of the Sub to a more professional and aesthetically pleasing feel.
We hope you appreciate these changes and will continue contributing to our growing community with your creative maps and ideas.

Update regarding the usage of AI
Hey there!
As part of the ongoing changes to this subreddit following a change in the moderation team, we have decided that we will no longer allow the usage of AI generated content in our community.
There may be exceptions to this rule in specific cases, but whether or not they apply remains at discretion of the moderators for now.
We understand that this change may be disappointing to some people, but we believe that we are making the right decision.
Have a nice day.
Introducing myself as a new moderator.
Hey everyone! I'm u/After-Trifle-1437 and I'm one of the new moderators at r/rejectedmaps.
The previous moderator left the subreddit (at least temporarily) and cannot continue to fulfill his duties of moderation due to personal reasons. Thus he decided to look for a new moderator to take on the job.
I and another user have been chosen as new mods after we successfully applied for the positions.
For most users, this change will not have any immediate impact on the user experience or the way the subreddit works. The rules are still the same currently.
However we might consider making some (likely minor) changes to improve the sub in the future.
Have a nice day!
