TLDR: New account and quartz is hard bottle necking the amount of traps I can craft. WARNING: HIGH-KEY A RANT. I'm a decently experienced player having played since 2019 reached pl 131. Recently created a new account after it went f2p and have speedran to pl 64 and completed twine ssd 4 in roughly a week. I'm trying to both max out my twine stormshield (all others have been completed) but am running dry on quartz. I have hundreds if not thousands of all other components to craft the traps that are in my opinion essential. This didn't use to be a problem because you could always trade some of the other components to others to even it out. Anti air traps are insanely convenient as both a safety net for a failed lobber shield or just to forgo a lobber shield altogether. Sound walls to stop propanes from ruining everything. Tar pits to stop smashers from doing the same, mainly if you're in a too high level zone to kill before it gets to your builds. And lastly freeze traps, which is arguably the single best floor trap in the entire game. ALL of these could be used in the same mission, multiple of each and they all require quartz. idk if I'm just bad or what but I can farm enough of the other components to craft 10 of them in the time it takes to farm the quartz to craft 1. Farming for them manually feels pointless because clearing an entire zones caves can yield enough to craft 5 traps, closer to 10 if you're lucky. with 10ish minutes of work. Farming encampment missions is arguably faster aswell as stormchests and birds around the map but even then, its so painfully slow. I spent a good 3 hours yesterday farming quartz to match the amount of the other materials I farmed in 20 minutes. Please lmk if theres another way (NOT expeditions, that's time-gated and still slow)
