Hi all, I'm a small venue tech who's been getting by with cheap smog makers that die on me after 3 shows. Dependable Chauvet and Antari are a bit pricier for the bigger flow jobs and replacement parts are way too pricey. Things that don’t suck much but also don’t cost a fortune? On smaller gig clubs I scored some surprisingly durable stuff from Alibaba; modular parts are nice and it’s been better build quality than I expected for that dollar range. Some decent starter stuff also shows up on Amazon, although most of it isn’t gonna make it past a season. I’m not too worried about issues like automation, it’s all about temperature of use and continuous-scale usage with me. Worst thing I ran into was some random brands leaking poisoning CO2 gas everywhere. Anyone test run one of the dry ice machines at concerts for length of use? What are the brands that bore the best reliability and, automated costs for long Finish? Thanks!
