Daycare suggestions

Hello,

I am looking for infant daycare suggestions. She will be around 3 months old while we start her daycare. I am a bit nervous starting daycare so young and will really appreciate if you can talk about your experiences for certain daycares. Both commercial or in home daycare works. We are located on the East side of town, thank you

Hello,
I am a first time mom asking for suggestions and help from other moms.

I was considering hiring a nanny and have them around from the end of maternity leave when the baby would be 3 months old till 6 months old. After 6 months, I was thinking of transitioning her to daycare as it financially makes more sense. I started my search for nanny early so that I don’t get stressed out at the end of maternity leave and hired a nanny. We had a verbal agreement but 2 weeks later when I was checking in on her she said she can’t take the job as she has family emergencies. Same thing happened to my second candidate who also accepted to meet but lmk in the morning that she just got a call from another job. While I have some other candidates that I can look into hiring, I am losing the trust on this. What if when I start my work, my nanny suddenly quit one day and I have no backup plan.

That’s why I am seriously considering daycare route now. I know at least I will have peace of mind that there is someone to take care of my kid while I work. But I heard about kids getting pretty sick on daycare which makes me nervous. Also I have mom guilt thinking I will not see her the whole day and that it’s pretty hard for a 3 month old to be out whole day.

I can work from home but my job is very deadline oriented and sometimes get pretty demanding. But there are some weeks when it can be pretty chill with low tasks. There is no way to know in advance how the schedule will be like. My partner needs to be on site everyday and can’t wfh.

If you have put your infants in daycare, could you let me know if you liked it in the long run? Was the transition easy for the baby? Did they actually get sick very often and how did you manage that? Is it worth still looking into the nanny route and why? Or should I just spend my energy on finding a good daycare?
