Hi all, we’ve had our 10 week old (male)mini dachshund for 2 weeks now, in just the past few days he absolutely loses his mind (barking, screeching, biting) from about 6-8pm. He is just finishing treatment for Giardia (it’s been a rough first 2 weeks), so we thought this might be contributing?
We’ve tried, enforced naps during the day, calm indoor activities in the evening, frozen toy or lick mat 15-20 minutes before his “witching hour usually starts”, keeping him in his play pen so he can chew safely. Trying to settle him in his crate, in our arms, giving him safe chew toys… we’ve tried everything we can think of (and that a google search has suggested) and nothing at all seems to work.
I know he’s just a baby and still learning; he does so well during the day and has been great for house training, crate training etc, but him losing his mind every night is making me lose my mind… any help or tips would be so so appreciated
