RN to MD

Hi everyone I’m 29 and currently finished nursing school. I know people say this, but am I too old to apply to med school? During rotations, I became highly interested in the surgical field. I shadowed a plastic surgeon and realized that career field was for me. I have considered going to PA school because I felt too old for med school and want to have kids in the next 5 years. I am turning 30 and by the time I am finished with all my pre-reqs, I will be 31/2. Do you think it’s worth it?

Currently my undergrad gpa is 2.9 (adhd), my absn gpa is 4.0 and my science gpa is 4.0. I did take the MCAT practice test and have landed around a 505. I have over 3k clinical hours, 0 research, 200 hours of volunteering, and 20 shadowing hours.

Hello, I’m almost 4 months post op and saw that I have a small opening. I had the same opening have discharge around the 1st month and healed by doing the aquaphor and gauze method. This time around it’s straight up flesh and blood. Would you recommend I notify my surgeon about this reoccurrence? Thank you.

Hi everyone, I (29F) was wondering if RN to MD would be a good solution for someone who is non-trad or a waste of time? I shadowed a plastic surgeon and realized that is where I am suppose to be. My issue is residency being long and I want to be a mom. By the time I finish, I would be entering my 40’s and feel like I’m giving myself stress. I know time will pass, but I want to know if it’s really worth it? I have thought of going to NP school, but NP’s don’t have surgical training like PA’s or MD/DO.

Currently I finished an accelerated nursing program with a 4.0 with over 1500 clinical hours, 300 hours of volunteering, 20 hours of shadowing and 0 research hours. My first gpa was a 2.9 (adhd) and my sgpa is a 4.0. Also would love to hear from anyone who took this journey as well! Thanks.
