Furthermore, ten years in mostly small fandoms with several OC-centric fics. I’ve written ten in total. If we average it out by year, we get:
2 user subs/year
111 kudos/year (or one every 3-4 days)
30 comments/year (or one every 12-ish days)
26 bookmarks/year (two every month)
24 subs/year (two every month)
44k words/year (~3-4k a month)
2,450 hits/year (200/month)

I am super proud of my stats. I’ve worked hard to get here. If you’re looking at people with more than this, it’s entirely possible they’ve been working at it for years, but also possible they’re super prolific, or fortunate enough to write in huge fandoms, (which really balloons stats) or they just flat out got lucky with timing/audience (like putting stuff out when the fandom first got popular.)

Point is, if you’re looking at your stats versus others and feeling discouraged? Please don’t forget to take into account things like fandom size, timing, OC-centric fics (which are less popular), how long you’ve been writing, number of fics, how quickly you published those fics (spread over more time tends to draw more readers) and any number of other factors. Comparing yours to others is, as they say, apples to oranges, or in some cases, apples to computer desks. You’re doing great!
