Hello! My name’s Hero, this isn’t a rp post, (it’s ooc, but also an introduction! But also ooc…) its more like “here look at my lore for this character… of my possession please, i love them” Big text ahead! (Rainworld, since yk… rainworld is cannon here. Sorry if you don’t like rainworld)
(I’d like to introduce a character by the name Fiend, I want to make sure his lore is allowed. I’ll change thingieaboos to better fit the setting!)
The martyrs were made to follow God and it is the source of their power. (They call themselves the martyrs for a reason!)
They were made alongside an iterator called Garden of Martyrs, of which was tasked to watch of them, protect them and something else that i’ll get into later.
The martyrs’ task was something harsh that needed to something strong, or capable to complete, but not just strength in power, skill and devotion.
So the powers were given to them, and their lineage. (Which kinda works like “royal blood”)
Started with 5 scugs.
No, there was no incest.
The way their powers work is like this :
They aren’t born with the power ready, they work and practice for it, with devotion, faith, and self sacrifice/ sacrifice.
Through it the markings on their body emerge, slowly. Within time the martyr symbol and karma symbol emerge on them as well, indicating their passage is complete, and powers gifted to them.
Their powers are unique to them, they can be similar but it’s not usually the same thing, only them can have their special ability.
They come without any necessary weakness, and it sorta relates to their personality, karma, and etc… (rainworld part of it)
It could be just about anything, hence why they are strong!
(I’d like to give an example of their powers, But i feel like meeting them and yk figuring it out in roleplay is cooler! I will talk about it in terms of balancing.)
With time the martyrs completed their mission,
Their iterator, Garden of Martyrs who with time became their best friend, and watched over them like a mother. could not bring herself to do what she was tasked, to guide all the martyrs to ascend.
She loved them dearly, grew too attached, and did not want to be left alone.
With more time the martyrs lowkey lost the plot, kind of just living with traditions and culture, not really leaving their temple.
Spending their time cleaning their temple, cleaning their iterator, walking around and exploring.
Then their history mingled with the scholars,
The scholars are capable of reading pearls, and the martyrs have their history within pearls. Around this time GoM were the only one to read them their history, and give them their mark of communion.
The scholars kinda became very nice neighbors, and eventually just kinda became part of the family.
The scholars came in to the iterator and took the role to read the martyrs their history, (mostly) making sure to not read certain snippets to them that spoke of sensible things, their ultimate end. (Since GoM tried told the scholars to keep it hidden.)
They were originally made purposed, and their end would be to join with God their creator,
Hence their name Martyrs.
Since they are so strong it was feared that their power would ruin the ecosystem of rainworld, since their blood always results in a new martyr.
If they were to multiply too much, lizards, and vultures would no longer be predators to scugs.
And the balance shift.
Luckily, they stayed in their temple/ castle of quartz pillars and gold, running water and generations of history.

Now they live in their temple, happy still doing what they’ve always done in time. Clean the temple, festivals, continue their bloodline.
Live.
Martyr, sacrifices. (They don’t actually sacrifice other creatures, they kinda just fast. For long periods of time.)
The martyrs have certain aspects of their culture that makes them unique in each of their characters, they are respectful, learn to be communal, lovingly, and live in peace.
During childhood they look up to the adults with power and follow their rule, it’s an extremely strict childhood, harsh, and painful. Though even if their fur is covered in blood they understand that this is for a greater good, to bring in their markings.
Each of the kids in the temple are like brothers and sisters to each other, even from different parents, they sleep together, eat and play.
But the adults are of complete authority.
They are punished if they misbehave, and follow a strict schedule.
Still, they feel protected by their presence. Simply of their strength.
There are many martyrs in the temple. And the temple is so big that the temple isn’t yet full.
Their fur has unique patterns too!
Each of their markings are unique to only the individual,
Their markings glow when they pray, in a colors that vary from
White, yellow, red, orange, and blue
Each color emits its level of warmth, I arranged them from hottest to coldest.
They live in a Fanmade region, which I call Martyrdom.
It used to be a very pretty garden like place, then it turned to snow. And it’s now a very pretty cold blizzard region.
(There’s little details about their culture that i made, If ya read this far thank you and please share me your opinions on what I should change to better fit this setting. )
