I'm a remote worker that will soon be moving to Uruguay in August. Wanted to know how the process went for verifying Means of Livelihood?
What kind of employment information is asked for? From what I understand, a lawyer in Uruguay has to sign off on your case. But are they just reviewing paystubs? Are they contacting your employer? Do the pay stubs have to be directed to an Uruguayan bank account first? Or can it be deposited to a US bank then wired to an Uruguayan one?
Additionally, does this come at any additional cost to the company? Uruguay has an 11 year tax amnesty for immigrants that are employed by companies outside of Uruguay (I think?)
Any help on this would be hugely appreciated!
