Go to the outskirts of a city. Go down under a manhole cover into the sewers with PPE over your face and body. And set up in a maintenance room. People no longer use toilets as they dont flush.
Nobody would have any want to go into the sewers as they are full of excrement. Its easily defended considering they have to come down a ladder and you will know the area better than attackers.
You have city wide transportation and can pop up anywhere to loot. You can also kick attackers off into the sewage to make sure that even if they kill you they will die of disease.
You also have the advantage considering that you would have PPE and the stench of the sewers would make any attackers feel violently sick to their stomach.
