there was a boy who’s older brother died (I think it was while they were running from bullies). some of the details might be off but I think he ends up with a gauntlet or some sort of artifact and it allows him to transport to other worlds? he meets a group of ragtag heroes who are trying to keep the artifact/gauntlet thing away from the main villain(s).
