Swamp Thing
The first two slides are of Levi Kamei (first slide was drawn by Anand Rk, the second one was done by Mike Perkins who did the pencils and ink and Mike Spicer who was the colorist), the rest are of “Alec Holland” Swamp Thing. Slide three was done by Trish Mulvihill (penciller) and Rick Veitch (inker). Slide 4 was Shawn McManus. Slides 5-8 were Stephen Bissette (penciller) and John Totleben (inker). Slide 9 was Shawn McManus with Tatjana Wood as the colorist
I especially love his eyes, they’re so very piercing, and give an unsettlingly air to him like slide 6.
But other times, there’s such a deep somber and melancholy to them like in slide 9, where he’s carrying “his” skeleton.
Slide 5, is my personal favorite when it comes to art of Swamp Thing, it’s such a powerful image, especially with the build up to this moment.
His character and comics have such a great range and his design similarly can morph so well to better fit the tone of the comic he’s in, whether it’s more of the paragon hero or the tragic monster. He’s definitely my favorite horror comic character.
