iPhone mini is never coming back
If Apple Inc. is actually moving in the direction hinted at by products like MacBook Neo, then it’s not a signal that the mini is returning. If anything, it suggests the opposite.
Neo makes one thing pretty clear: Apple is willing to go down in price and performance. But they’re doing it through segmentation, not by going against mainstream form factors
And that’s the core issue for the mini. Phone 13 mini has a very dedicated fanbase. People hold onto it. Communities are active. But Apple doesn’t optimize for loyalty. They optimize for volume + margins + usage patterns.
And usage patterns still favor larger displays, better battery life, camera systems.
The mini isn’t “dead”, but it’s likely a niche going forward.
If it comes back, it probably won’t be cheap or mainstream.
More plausible scenario is a “Mini Pro” (high price, low volume).
Neo suggests Apple would rather make tech more accessible than physically smaller.
So there’s a narrow path for a mini comeback.
But would you realistically buy a new mini at ~$800–1000 if it had Pro-level specs in a small body? Or is the mini something we love the idea of, but don’t prioritize when we actually upgrade?
