What am I doing wrong?
Hi! Please help me figure out what I am doing wrong with healing these piercings. I got my triples pierced in February 2026 at a local tattoo/piercing shop. I've been cleaning/spraying it with the solution (99% saline) given by the shop daily (usually morning and night, but sometimes not the morning). The jewelry is a straight labret, butterfly back.
They haven't been too swollen, but last night my left lobe hurt so i decided to clean the back and it was bleeding a bunch :(. I decided to take the backs off to clean (I haven't been doing a good job of keeping the back clean) and although the front looks fine (little to no redness/swelling, no crusties, no bleeding), the backs of each piercings were VERY irritated, swollen, leaking fluid (maybe lymph??) and bleeding (as shown in the images). I do sleep on them, but I did the same with both of my other lobes and I cannot sleep on my back. Is this the issue with my healing? What else can I do to get them to heal? I also participate in a sport that requires me to take my piercings out/replace them with clear plastic (cheerleading), so I need these to heal asap (by August) or I will need to take them out. Please help!!
