Bonnell 775 MX
Who is having issues with the Bonnell 775MX?
I purchased the Bonnell 775 MX for my 14-year-old son, and unfortunately, it has been nothing but issues from the beginning.
For a bike that costs around $7,000, I expected a much higher level of quality and reliability. Within the first three months, this bike has broken down and needed repairs multiple times. It arrived with a broken screen, then we dealt with a flat tire, a broken shock, a broken chain, and then a broken sprocket. The company told us the sprocket was determined to be a faulty part and shipped us a replacement. Less than 50 miles later, that replacement sprocket broke again.
The most frustrating part is that the company does not offer phone support. Everything has to be handled through email, which makes the customer service process slow, frustrating, and difficult to deal with when you have a bike that keeps breaking.
My son’s friends all have bikes that cost significantly less and have had little to no issues. Meanwhile, this has been the most expensive bike in the group and has had the most problems. It has been disappointing and honestly embarrassing for him, especially when the bike is constantly broken down.
Overall, this has been a painful ownership experience. Between the repeated mechanical failures and the poor customer service process, I would not recommend this bike based on our experience.
Any Suggestions for me?
