Got into IIIT Delhi with three branch options and genuinely confused between them. Would really appreciate input from people who have actually been through it. First option is CSSS. The CS part is obviously great but the social sciences side doesn't interest me much. I could probably manage it but I'm also not sure where pure CS stands in 4 years with how fast things are changing. Second is ECE which is where my interest actually lies. IIIT Delhi's ECE curriculum has solid overlap with CS especially in the first two years which makes CS placements a realistic goal. The only concern is that if CS placements don't work out, the ECE backup in telecom and communication doesn't feel that strong. Third is EVE. Personally not the most interested in it but the curriculum overlaps with CS in the first two semesters just like ECE. The semiconductor market seems to be picking up which makes the VLSI backup from EVE genuinely attractive. So the dilemma basically is ECE has the interest factor but a weaker backup while EVE has a stronger backup but less personal interest. And CSSS has direct CS but the social sciences component is a concern. How realistic are CS placements from EVE or ECE, how much does the social sciences load actually affect CSSS students?

How true is that actually? And are the professors generally reasonable or is the grading and teaching style on the harsher side? How realistic are CS placements from EVE or ECE, how much does the social sciences load actually affect CSSS students, and how much can you trust the official placement data? Thanks in advance!
