I know I shouldn’t count the money until it’s mine. But mentally how? I’m the only kid and I have a great relationship with my parents. In fact, I’m still using my mom’s credit card for my Starbucks order because it’s in my app since over a decade ago and in this way, she knows I’m alive without calling me lol.
I’m married. Early 30s. Husband late 30s. NW probably 2.1 - 2.4M somewhere there. DINK not planning to have kids. I stopped working full time a couple of years ago but still working maybe “quarter time” now just to make myself have some social interactions.
My parents are in their 60s, dad still working because he loves working. Mom stopped working decades ago. I don’t know how much money they have. Maybe 3M if I have to give a very conservative guess.
Like I said, I’m trying to do the math. My husband and I spent 80k a year maybe? Like I don’t need to live in a more expensive lifestyle but I can, if you know what I mean. But how much can I spend? HHI is between 230k-280k depends on if I work “quarter time” or “half time “. Husband in tech. So job security is none. No debt other than the townhouse we live in. Have about 270k left. Like can I spend 20k on a nicer international trip now? I’m totally happy on a 8k trip. But just saying…. Maybe?
