My husband and I live in South County Dublin, he's originally from Tipp (Thurles). I absolutely LOVE it there and we were thinking about moving, but the small community politics have me second guessing (lots of family there and parents family lived there all their lives).

Community is important to us, ours has gotten smaller in recent years due to people moving out of Dublin. Looking for a commute by train, easy to Pearse but also not too far away from Thurles to visit family. We have no children, just would like a nice movie theatre, good coffee places, and nice options for a meal.

Any suggestions of towns for 2 people in mid forties to grow a community?
