Hi everyone,

My Birman cat is currently pregnant and should give birth very soon. I’ve heard about blood type incompatibility, especially in this breed, but my vet told me there was no risk since it’s her first litter. However, after doing more research, it seems that the information he gave me might not be accurate.

So now I don’t really know what to believe or what to do. I don’t know her blood type or the male’s. Some sources say you shouldn’t let the kittens nurse and that you should give them maternal milk replacer instead, but I also read that they need colostrum to get the necessary antibodies.

I’m really stressed and confused, and I need some advice. Thank you !
