Nowadays my emotions are all over the place(probably due to HRT) and especially around May so I'm just saying shit here, sorry. Victory Day should hold great importance for anti-fascists all over the world. It's a solemn day marked with sorrow but also is re-invigorating.
It is difficult to not find official celebrations of it a bit hollow, knowing that the same Fascist current that was defeated with a grave, grave human toll of 22-26 million paid by my ancestors alone (and not even counting how any lives sacrificed in the East Aaian theater by the people of China, etc) still lives on and has been unleashing unspeakable evil that was witnessed by all of us daily these past three years.
All i can say is, eternal glory to the martyrs 81 years ago all over the world, and today in Palestine, Yemen, Iran, Lebanon -- wherever the fight still carries on. They are the most gentle , loving, and courageous
