I’ve been having this problem for a while now. I start the car and it idles steadily, sometimes will occasionally shake the car which to me means I’m misfiring. I’ll unplug all my coil packs and all cylinders indicate they were firing with an audible change.
Low end power is horrendous. It feels as though I’m driving a 1.0L engine or worse. As I get to vanos range there is a difference in power but no where near as much as there should be.
On top of this I have the zf5hp-18 automatic and it was just not selecting gears how it usually would. I was having to manually shift it so I could even drive the car.
I feel as though I could have a sensor down somewhere, recently I have changed the MAF but it was a cheap one if I’m honest. Not sure of the brand. I also changed the crankshaft sensor which was MEYLE. I have also refreshed my vanos seals so I’m not entirely where to start dumping my money tbh
Any advice or checks would be appreciated. I have unplugged the throttle sensor and ran engine. Ran horrendously and same with MAF and choke valve which tells me they are working.
