Looking to join the dark side…

I’ve been a dedicated KO player for a long time but I’ve got some models from the Aetherwar box (Magister on Disc, 2 Tzaangor units on discs, some screamers) and a unit of pink horrors sitting on a shelf right now and I want to work on something different. So from these units where would I grow a Disciples force out. I’m mostly looking for casual Path to Glory play but if it hooks me I might go competitive. Are daemons the way or mortals? A mix? Thinking a copy of the newest spearhead would be a good start but hoping for guidance before I lock it in!

Thinking of joining the dark side

I’m mainly a Kharadron player, but I’ve got a copy of Aetherwar (Magister on disc, 2 units of disc tzaangor, and some screamers) and a box of pink horrors sitting on a shelf and I’d like to make a force for casual play (mostly beginners in a path to glory but if I like the feel maybe move to tournament gaming as well). For AoS where would I go? Grab a spearhead and go from there or should I focus more on either mortal or daemon forces?

I played Tau a bit in 3rd edition and since moved into AoS as my main game. My local group is moving back to 40k a bit so I’m seeking guidance on if the current codex is good to catch up on lore. I know the game re-indexed recently so I’m just looking to catch up on the story and get my feet planted for the next edition. So..is it worth getting the book or no?
