So, I usually am working on some idea or another, and someday maybe I'll even complete one. In the course of working on one of them, I had a vague idea about creating a class that grants some game-like abilities. There is more to it than that, but that's the part I'm focusing on right now.

So far I've got:

  1. Status Panel

  2. Inventory/Storage

  3. Map Function (I suppose I could expand this one in later advancements. Maybe tracking, detection, and whatnot)

  4. Fast Travel (teleport to a bound point, could create additional Waypoints in later advancements)

  5. Universal Crafting Space (More like a fusion space than real crafting, but it lets them create new potions and gear, so...)

I also have a Universal Translator.

The premise is that when "Awakening their Talent," people are automatically given this class. Adventurer. It is granted as a Common-tier class, and once they've completed 10 levels, that's it. This is set up to take several years, so that the Awakened can learn Abilities and refine their skills. After that, they undergo a Class Awakening that grants them a new class.

Basically, they receive their Talent upon entering high school and use their time there to grow and develop. Upon graduation, they undergo a similar process to their Talent Awakening and are given a choice of various Classes that suit their skills and Abilities.

These Classes are rated on a Common to Divine-Tier, though no one has ever gotten more than an Epic-Tier Class, and in fact, no one really knows that a Divine-Tier even exists. The system is pretty new, less than 20 years old, and the original Class System wasn't even fully integrated, requiring Smart Devices to track progress and attainments.

Dammit, I started rambling.

Anyway, while no one has Awakened above an Epic-Tier, some have evolved their Class to the Legendary-Tier, so they're pretty sure there's something beyond. Two somethings, actually, but I digress. The point is, no one has ever been offered to evolve the Adventurer Class, so it locks at Common-Tier, but the MC accidentally unlocks his and finds out what the next Tier of the Adventurer Class is, and it's not bad... Not as powerful as some other classes of the same Tier, but it has a few benefits that are worth exploring, especially the additional Ability Slots that are normally hard to come by, and since it can also level up its Awakened Class alternately with the Uncommon-Tier Adventurer Class, it's a win-win.

So, I've got the benefits for the Common, Uncommon, and Rare-Tiers, and honestly, I'll probably stop there, but it got me thinking as to what other basic Game-Like benefits could be added.

Any ideas?

Other than my general mental state, it's naming things. Particularly powers abd such.

Yeah, Fireball is Fireball, but, for example, I'm trying to build a System that uses a kind of visualized mystical Tarot reading to create a base "Talent" which confers various traits based on the number and impact of the cards displayed.

That's fine, but naming the dang Talents to give them some degree of mystical gravitas leaves me banging my head against my desk. Unique sounding classes are the same.

Though, now that I think about it, using the Talent name in conjunction with a simpler Class name... hmm. Maybe.

Anyway, what about ya'll. Does naming bog you down? Or is there something else that slows your process to a crawl.
